A few clear answers to help your family begin. For questions about a particular legal interest, boundary or registration application, use the appropriate professional or official authority.
Frequently asked questions
Where should our family begin?
Start with a conversation with your parents and family elders. Ask what they know about the land and where existing records are kept. Articles 1 and 2 help you begin respectfully.
What if we have few documents—or none?
Write down what the family knows and ask whether records are held by other relatives or professionals previously involved. Missing documents do not tell the whole story of the family's rights. The appropriate authority or qualified professional can explain what evidence and next steps are relevant. Start with Article 3.
Is a site plan the same as registration?
No. A site plan describes the land, while registration concerns an official record of the relevant interest or document. A plan alone should not be treated as proof of ownership. Articles 4 and 5 explain the distinction.
Will every family receive a title certificate?
The appropriate route and resulting documents depend on the land, location and interest involved. Check current Lands Commission guidance rather than assuming one process applies to everyone. See Article 5.
Can I help if I am not the person who makes decisions?
Yes. You can learn, listen, organise copies with permission, find official information and help relatives keep records. Authority to decide or sign remains with those who hold it.
Does digitisation replace the original documents or registration?
No. Digital copies help with organisation, access and backups. Keep originals safe; digitisation does not replace professional surveying or official registration. See Article 6.
Must we buy a digitisation package?
No. The series is freely accessible, and many families can begin organising digital copies with a phone and tools they already have. Optional support is separate from the reading series.
Do you offer help digitising existing land records?
We plan to offer optional land digitisation and management assistance. You can express interest through the contact route when it is available. This is not an offer of surveying, legal representation or registration services.
Should I send land documents with an enquiry?
No. Please do not submit documents, identity numbers, coordinates or sensitive details through the general enquiry form. A short description of your question is enough.
Does documentation guarantee a higher price or a loan?
No. Clear, legitimate records can improve confidence and make land easier to assess, but price, demand and lending decisions depend on other factors too.
Still Have a Question?
Ask about the reading series, report an error, or express interest in optional land digitisation.
