About this series

Your family's land has a history. Help your parents document it, organise it, and prepare it for the next generation.

What this series is

Your Land Is Your Wealth is a free reading series for young people in Ghana. It explains why family land records matter, what steps families can take to document, register, organise and manage their land, and how young people can encourage and help their parents and family elders. The people with authority over the land make the decisions.

General information, not advice

The series gives general information. It is not legal, survey or valuation advice for any particular family or piece of land. Requirements depend on the location, the land and the interest involved, and they can change. Articles that describe official processes link to their sources and show the date those sources were checked. Always confirm current requirements with the Lands Commission or another appropriate authority, and consult a qualified professional for your family's situation.

The story and the illustrations

Adwoa, Kofi Mensah and their relatives are a fictional family, and their story is invented to show common situations. The illustrations depict fictional people, places, and situations. Any documents shown are illustrative only.
